The Scotch Malt Whisky Society Rare Collection Muckety-Muck 25 Year Old Single Grain is a "must have" for those who appreciate the warmth and complexity of single grain whisky.
Though the Port Dundas distillery closed its doors in 2010, even today there are select, rare remaining stocks that allow us to see into the glorious past of one of Scotland’s most respected and historic distilleries. This single grain release is named for an old word for ‘muck’ (as in, paddock or cowpark,) but it’s anything but common, boasting 25 years of aging following on the smashing success of our 24-year-old release.
The aroma starts with a burst of caramel and notes of baked sugar backed by the taste of crisp fruit and light toasted oak. The fruit forward flavor is blended with hints of butterscotch vanilla which carry through to the finish.
