Old Forester 1870 Original Batch Bourbon
In 1870 George Garvin Brown created Old Forester Bourbon on Louisville’s famous Whiskey Row. To honor that milestone year in bourbon history, we have crafted Old Forester 1870 Original Batch, a tribute to that extraordinary moment in whiskey history. This first expression of our Whiskey Row series is a non-chill filtered, complex and full-flavored bourbon whiskey with hints of vanilla, oak and caramel from the barrel notes.
The Batch represents a groundbreaking moment in bourbon history as it pays tribute to the classic first release of our flagship bourbon, Old Forester. Serving as the first expression in our Whiskey Row series, 1870 Original Batch was crafted to honor all things Old Forester and serve as a celebration for all of those that have come before us.
Clove notes spice up a medley of citrus fruits (orange, grapefruit, blood orange), all softened with a delicate, sweet, floral honeysuckle character.
Baking spices (clove, cinnamon, nutmeg) flow into a citrus-fruit mix and shortbread sweetness.
Soft, with lingering fruit and spice character.
