Campari is a much-loved Italian bitters that Italians use to stimulate their appetite before dinner. Invented back in the 1860's by Gaspare Campari, an Italian pharmacist, this bitter and fruity beverage has been enjoyed for more than 150 years! Even though it comes from Italy, it is prepared according to German traditions; sweetened with cane sugar and flavored naturally with over twenty herbs and plants.
An Italian aperitif, Campari has added pleasant bitterness and a distinctive fruit-spicy flavor to the cocktail world. Its distinctively jewel-red color makes it stand out as an ingredient in many traditional cocktails, like the Negroni which calls for equal parts Campari, gin, and vermouth.
