Wilderness Trail American Rye Whiskey is our authentic Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey. The first release in our Kentucky Straight Rye whiskey series, it is made from water and grains that are distilled in our column stills and aged in new charred oak barrels before bottling.
Our Wilderness Trail Rye Whiskey is crafted from a high-rye mash bill and aged in new charred oak barrels for at least 6 months. After distillation, this whiskey spends the next 12-24 months aging in our barrel room at 100 proof. We barrel our rye at 100 proof and 105 proof to highlight the balance of the distillate and alternate solubility expression we get from the barrel at a lower proof. The result of this process is a full bodied whiskey with spicy vanilla and caramel notes, with hints of cinnamon spice that are uniquely different than other ryes on the market.
