It is named after Elmer, who was responsible for creating many memorable and award-winning bourbons at Buffalo Trace Distillery, including Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon, which was the first-ever single barrel bourbon on the market.

The term “single barrel” refers to a barrel of whiskey that is not mixed with whiskey from any other barrels. This allows each barrel to develop its own unique flavors based on factors such as the char level of the barrel, age of the barrel, size of the barrel, warehouse location and more.
