Old Overholt 12 Year Cask Strength Straight Rye

Old Overholt Extra Aged Cask Strength 12 Year Straight Rye Whiskey

Limited-edition 2025 release from the historic Old Overholt brand (dating to 1810). This unfiltered, cask-strength Kentucky-style straight rye was distilled and barreled in spring 2013, aged 12 years across four Clermont, Kentucky warehouses for balanced depth and mellowing. A premium evolution of the lineup, building on prior 10- and 11-year editions.

Why It Stands Out

Old Overholt upgrades its heritage with mature, high-proof expressions. This 12-year-old delivers complex rye character without overwhelming tannin or dryness. Praised as one of the best ryes of the year, it offers great value at ~$109.99 SRP. Reviewers highlight its balance of spice, fruit, and oak—mature yet approachable.
