Yoichi is one of Nikka's signature whiskies and it has a uniquely balanced and completely different taste to the other Nikka malts. Yoichi has soft, floral notes of Japanese cherry blossom on the nose with hints of liquorice on the palate.
Yoichi Single Malt is a range of single malt expressions from the Yoichi Distillery, Nikka's first distillery built in 1934. The founder Masataka Taketsuru chose the town of Yoichi in Hokkaido because of the similar environmental conditions to Scotland, where he learned whisky-making.
Yoichi Single Malt is made with exclusively malted Scottish barley. This creates a whisky with rich, creamy body and fresh, fruity hints.
