The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Year Old represents the perfect marriage of two cask types. It is matured first in traditional oak casks and then finished for a final year in Spanish sherry casks, which impart a distinctive dried fruit and nut flavor. As a result, this single malt has a rich and creamy taste, with flavors of coffee and chocolate and a soft floral aroma.

After maturing in traditional oak casks for at least 12 years, some Balvenie single malt is transferred to sherry-seasoned barrels where it acquires a characteristic hue and deep woody flavor. This marriage of whiskies is called the "Double Wood" process. The result of this process is exceptional. The diversity of flavors reveal new depths on every sip.
