As the highest proof whiskey from Jack Daniel's Distillery, this special release will be enjoyed by many. The great tasting whiskey will be shared and enjoyed with friends, family, and colleagues.

The Jack Daniels brand has been around for more than 150 years. It was established in 1866 when Jasper Newton "Jack" Daniel registered a distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee.

Our fourth annual special release is here, and it's… well. It's something.

Introducing Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Special Release Coy Hill! This one is our highest-proof whiskey yet!

We know what you're wondering: Why is this special release higher-proof than the previous special releases? And the answer is that we just wanted to see if we could do it. We got a little cocky in 2020, and we thought, "We can do anything!" Well, it turns out that this time, we really couldn't. You'd think that creating a whiskey at even higher proof than last year would be pretty straightforward. But you know what they say: Pride comes before a fall—and boy, did we fall hard on this one.

First off, the distillery caught fire. We don't know how—we're still waiting for our insurance claim to go through—but there was definitely a period of time where it looked like all of our hard work (and all of the barrels of whiskey) were up in smoke. Literally.

What about the whiskey that survived? Well, after filtering and bottling, we discovered that it didn't taste like much of anything at all! It was so strong! So we had to let you try it and tell us what you think...
